Psalmopoeus cambridgei

Female apx 5" in a 8x8x10 enclosure

Rehome: adoptions fees goes towards our next rescue efforts.

A fast-growing, arboreal New World species endemic to the tropical rainforests of Trinidad. While it is technically a New World spider, it behaves much like an Old World species—it is incredibly fast, defensive, and lacks the irritating urticating hairs common to other spiders from the Americas

  • Size: This is a large arboreal tarantula, with females reaching a leg span of 6 to 7 inches
  • Lifespan: Females can live for 10 to 12 years, whereas males are much shorter-lived, typically reaching maturity in 1–2 years and surviving only a few months to a year after that.
  • Temperament: Known for being very skittish and defensive. Since they cannot kick hairs, they rely on their extreme speed and a more potent bite than most other New World species
