Native to the arid Paraguaná Peninsula of Venezuela, it is famous for its vibrant tri-color scheme: metallic blue legs, a blue-green carapace, and a bright orange abdomen. GBB is a New World species, though it is faster and more skittish than your typical "beginner" tarantula.
Origin: Arid shrublands of Venezuela
Adult Size: 4–6 inches leg span
Lifespan: Females 12–15 years; Males 3–5 years
Temperament: Highly skittish and "bolty"; will kick urticating hairs if disturbed
Experience Level: Excellent for beginners who respect their speed and don't intend to handle them
